Chicken 65!!!

Chicken 65


Chicken 65 might be one of the most well known modern dishes in Kerala. It is one of the best entrees that people choose before main course. Here is the recipe with which you can make Chicken 65 at home, Restaurant style

 

 Ingredients

For the marinade:
Cleaned Boneless Chicken – 1/2 kg (15-20 small bite size pieces)
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 2 tsp
Red Chili Powder – 3 tsp
Pepper Powder – 1/4 tsp (optional)
Cumin Powder – 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder- a generous pinch
Corn Flour – 2 tsp
Rice Flour – 3/4 tsp
Red Food Color – 1/4 tsp
Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp
Egg – 1
Salt – to taste
Other ingredients:
Oil – for deep frying
Curry Leaves – few
Green Chilies – 2 halved
Raw onion slices – few just to season
Lemon – 1/2 wedge just to season

Method.

  1. Mix all the items mentioned in the marinade section in a bowl. Mix with well to so that the Marinade reaches consistency.
  2. Let it rest for couple of hours. The softness of the chicken depends on the time of resting. So after 2 hours you can choose to keep it for some more time, if you want it softer.
  3. Now use a Kadai (Pan ) to heat the oil. Fry the curry leaves and chilly slices and keep them aside.
  4. Deep fry the chicken in the hot oil. Make sure they come out golden brown.
  5. Now you can garnish with the fried curry leaves and chilli that you have set aside.
  6. Best server with slices of Onions and wedges of Lemon.
